TESOL ACCREDITATION

The online courses offered by OnTESOL have been evaluated and recognized by two separate, independent accrediting bodies: TESL Canada and TESL Ontario. Completion of a recognized course with OnTESOL satisfies work visa requirements for international jobs and confers upon graduates the additional credentials required for ESL teaching positions in Canada .

TESL CANADA AND TESL ONTARIO REQUIREMENTS:

120-hour Advanced TESOL Certificate

Completion of this program leads to the following certifications:

  1. Upon successful completion of the Advanced 120-hour TESOL Certificate program, you will receive the 120-hour Advanced TESOL Certificate awarded by Coventry House International-OnTESOL .
  2. You will also be eligible for TESL Canada Professional Standard 1 and /or TESL Ontario CTESOL Level 1 certification on completion of a separate 20-hour Practicum and other requirements (See below).

168-hour Hybrid TEFL Certificate

Completion of this program leads to the following certifications:

  1. Upon successful completion of the 168-hour Hybrid TEFL Certificate program, you will receive two certificates awarded by Coventry House International-OnTESOL: the 120-hour Advanced TESOL Certificate and the 168-hour Hybrid TEFL Certificate .
  2. You will also be eligible for TESL Canada Professional Standard 1 and /or TESL Ontario CTESOL Level 1 certification on completion of a separate 20-hour Practicum and other requirements (See below).

250-hour TESOL Diploma

Completion of this program leads to the following certifications:

  1. On successful completion of the 250-hour TESOL Diploma program, you will receive the 250-hour TESOL Diploma awarded by Coventry House International-OnTESOL.
  2. You will also be eligible for TESL Canada Professional Standard 2 certification on completion of a separate 50-hour Practicum and other accreditation requirements (See below).

THOSE WHO WISH TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR TESL ONTARIO AND TESL CANADA CERTIFICATION MUST SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE THE RECOGNIZED ONLINE PROGRAM, THE SEPARATE PRACTICUM MODULE AND MEET ALL THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum age: 21
  • A completed university degree from Canada or its equivalency. Students without a university degree can still enroll in the Advanced 120-hour TESOL Certificate receive a TESOL certification awarded by OnTESOL upon successful completion of the program, but they are informed that TESL Canada and TESL Ontario require an undergraduate degree from Canada or its equivalency.
  • Non-native speakers who did not completed a university degree in an English-speaking country must obtain one a valid English Proficiency Score before applying to TESL Ontario and/or TESL Canada accreditation: IELTS Academic (Overall 7 with a minimum of 7 in each skill area) OR TOEFL iBT (Overall 101 with a minimum of 23 in Listening, 24 in Reading, 27 in Speaking  and 27 in Writing).
